Part 2 - Creating a Budget
There are many steps to this part of the Checkpoint that you will need to complete in order.
There are many steps to this part of the Checkpoint that you will need to complete in order.
- Step 1 will be to find out what your monthly income is. You make minimum wage ($8.00 per hour) and work 40 hours per week. Remember: There are four weeks per month, so you are not done at just finding your weekly pay. You need to take it one step further to find your monthly income.
- In Step 2, you will need to decide which monthly expenses are the most important. You will not be able to do and pay for everything you want.
- Some expenses are given as a per week amount. Because this is a monthly budget, you will need to determine how much each expense will cost per month, so for Step 3, you will need to multiply each weekly amount by the number of weeks in a month (see step 1 above for this amount).
- Step 4 will require you to total all of your budget items.
- The final step, Step 5, is where you will determine if you make enough money each month to pay for all your monthly expenses.
