Fourth Grade March Checkpoint
Due Friday, March 20, 2015
Directions: There are two major parts of this checkpoint. You are expected to complete both parts. See the directions in each part for how to submit your answers. If you have any questions about what is expected of you, contact your homeroom teacher as soon as possible.
Part 1 - 10-Step Writing
Directions: In Mrs. Mortier's SBAC Prep (RLA) class, you have read the following sources from the SBAC Performance Task: "It's a Cold (Hot, Dry, Dark) Cruel World!", "Animal Architects", and "Don't Step in the Ecosystem!". It is now time for you to take all the information you've gathered in each of the articles and combine them to respond to the open response below. Make sure you are completing each step in the 10-Step Writing Process we have been focusing on this year. Your final product should have a thesis, transitions, evidence from the text, and a conclusion.
How to Submit: Type your response in a Word document and submit to your homeroom teacher via kmail no later than Friday, March 20, 2015.
Open Response: Explain the unique ways in which animals live. Make sure to include information about extreme environments, how they build their living structures, and their ecosystems.
