How to Compare Fractions
Same Numerator: Compare denominators; the smaller denominator is the larger fraction.
Same Denominator: Compare numerators; the larger numerator is the larger fraction.
Pictorial Representation: Draw a picture or use the fraction bars provided below to compare fractions. Make sure your wholes are the same size.

Least Common Denominator: Find the least common denominator (LCD) and make equivalent fractions; then, compare all fractions using the "Same Denominator" method above. For more information on how to find the LCD, check out THIS video.
